My Autumn in New Hampshire

One of my boyfriend’s friend invited me to join them in going to New Hampshire. Of course, I said yes! I haven’t been out of town lately and it was a good time to discover awesome places. The trip was more than two hours with a little traffic at some point. I never find it boring on the road because I enjoyed looking at the trees along the highway. Reddish, yellowish, and red – orange leaves made me say wow! many times. They said it usually stay for a week and after that the trees start to shed…So while my boyfriend was driving, I took pictures and videos until we reached Lincoln, New Hampshire. Once I got out of the car, oh boy!!!! it wasss sooooooo cold. I saw mountains covered with snow as early as October. I was actually wondering why we havent experience snow down the coast. My boyfriend told me that once it starts to snow in our place I would wish that its summer already! That time they said was only a bitter cold day but for me I felt like i was inside the freezer and my knees were trembling so hard…I walked so slow… I was already wearing a camisole, a long sleeve tee, a sweater and a thick coat but still I was still freezing to death.

Anyways, at first sight I loved the place and hoped to live there one day. The one hour and twenty minutes ride in the Hobo Railroad train gave me a glimpse of the woodsy Lincoln along with the Pemigewasset River. It was countryside setting, you can hear the birds chirping or the sound of the crickets at night, very peaceful. Best place to reflect and to stay for a vacation.

The second thing we did in the late afternoon was the Flume Gorge Trail in Franconia Notch. It was an hour walk around the rocky mountain. It was a little scary to walk in the old narrow slippery wooden bridges. We tried going inside the wolf den but then I backed out! The cave was so dark and narrow. The scenic views of mountains, trees and flumes were totally breathtaking. We were like kids playing with the snow….throwing snows and running, laughing. We were glad that we walked around instead of riding the shuttle.

While strolling in the middle of the woods, I saw this tree on our way back to the Flume building. I was amazed to see the letters M + J engraved inside the heart. It made my heart melt. I called my boyfriend and when he saw it he hugged me tight. Whoever marked that tree made me happy. It was unexpected and unusual thing to see in the mountains. I realized that love is all around the corner…and the person who was holding my hand while walking in that trail loves me so much:-)
